✨self-care for the soul ✨

Hey There!
Finding yourself is not really how it works. You aren’t a ten-dollar bill in last winter’s coat pocket. You are also not lost. Your true self is right here, buried under cultural conditioning, other people’s opinions and inaccurate conclusions you drew as a kid that became your beliefs about who you are. 'Finding yourself' is actually returning to yourself. An unlearning, an excavation, a remembering who you were before the world got its hands on you" -Emily McDowell

December Favorites

We are officially back to square one. January is the month of new blessings, new opportunities, new life lessons and so much more. While we're moving forward, I want to take a moment to backpedal a bit just to share with you a few of my December faves!

Mac Book Air

Now that I'll be moving abroad, I'll be traveling in (tech) style. Courtesy of my parents, of course! For Christmas, I was gifted the Mac Book Air. It's super lightweight and it's totally capable. My old pc lagged terribly; ports were damaged and I couldn't edit videos to stay consistent on YouTube. Now that I have a Mac book, not only can I focus on video editing but I can also create proper lesson plans for my upcoming students. In other words- it's lit af.

Final Cut Pro

With my Mac book in the picture now, I get to experience the most talked about video editing program, which is of course, Final Cut Pro (big thanks to John). It polishes amateur video footage just right. Also, it’s easier for me to use as opposed to the other video editor that I was using. It required shutting off my wifi which seemed super sus imo. Anyways, I'm still learning how to work the program and hopefully create better content with it.

(Lofi) Playlists on YouTube

Whilst doing some research for content via YouTube, I've discovered the holiness which is lofi playlists. Though I'm still trying to grasp the concept of lofi, it's said to be chill and calm music ranging from jazz, house, and hip-hop. It gives me the same effect as meditation. Along the way, I've also discovered Korean R&B and hip-hop playlists from underground artists which I happened to develop a big love for. I mean there are days where I'm just tired of listening to the same ol' songs, these playlists help me find new gems. These playlists also have aesthetic themes which are a bonus!

To-Do Lists

As someone who is a workaholic and stresses out easily, my health is my top concern as of now. So with that said, I've been trying to incorporate to-do lists throughout my day for a more productive lifestyle. I use Evernote and I am able to access my to-do lists from my phone, computer, iPad, and etc. It's really useful and I feel like it helps me prioritize what needs to be done right then and there. When planning out my to-do lists, which is usually the night before, I always write realistic goals and I keep about 3-4 goals per day. It usually ranges from helping my brother with his homework to editing thumbnails for my videos. Each task varies and it's extremely useful to see what needs to be done as opposed to relying on your memory.
